Don's DiaryDon Rosa himself reports on his journeys for DuckMania.
Angoulême (France), January 2005:
I think the photos are self-explanatory. But one shows the Gyro exhibit with a long empty workbench. That needs a label to say that the bench was covered with all sorts of weird machinery on the first day of the exhibit, but when we went to take pictures some safety inspectors with the festival had ordered all that machinery removed as being potentially hazardous to fingers. [Remark by DuckMania: For a detailed report on the Picsou exhibition, read Dons mail to the Disney Comics Mailing List.]
There are some outdoor pictures, that have nothing to do with the PICSOU exhibit, but I wanted to show-off where they had me stay during the festival! The view of a nearby house with the daytime moon above it is the *private villa* we stayed in at a cognac distillery in the south of France. The second photo is a view looking in the opposite direction being the scene from the front door. The villa had three bedrooms, a Jacuzzi room and an outdoor swimming pool (which was too cold to use in January!). The view of a distant building (third photo) is the other guest house which is also an entertainment & banquet hall for visitors and customers, a 200-300 year old completely modernized building. Fantastic!
I thank DuckMania for posting my (wife's) pics, but I should point out that her camera battery failed at a crucial moment and she only got good shots of about the first third of the PICSOU exhibits. I'd hoped that she could record close-ups of every few feet of every wall.
